Sustainable Leadership
What is it? Individual leadership that benefits the long-term good of society by positively influencing people, creating change, and demonstrating values that support the highest principles of society. Our guess is that this defines you, because you care, about yourself and, more importantly, about the health and well-being of others. You aren't alone.
We work with hundreds of leaders who desire to be more than sustainable leaders, they want to be effective sustainable leaders. As you may have gathered, we are passionate about leadership. So passionate, that we wanted to discover more about the components and attributes that comprise leadership. We discovered that 180 leaders we surveyed including executive leaders, middle management, and front-line supervisors, believe effective sustainable leadership is a combination of three components:
- Moral Values
- Influence
- Creativity
Moral values are the degree to which a person recognizes and supports the highest values of humanity-those principles and ideals that demonstrate one cares for other humans and that are sustainable over time. Influence is the ability to affect other peoples' behaviors and understandings in support of a goal. Creativity is a person's ability to generate or recognize a novel, appropriate, and high quality idea, process, or product and a willingness to take a risk that transforms or changes an existing domain into a new one.
We believe all of you strive to be good leaders. No matter how good you are, we've discovered through many we've shared our learnings with, that there's always more learnings to be gained. We'd like the opportunity to share our programs with you so that you can further develop your capacity to lead. Please call us if you want to increase your influence, increase your own and your staff's creativity, and make your life easier by finding out how being a values-based organization can increase the overall effectiveness of your organization.
